Teachers Bullied by Students
In Person and Online
Defenses – Consequences – the Law
A one hour presentation, downloadable or in a DVD format, that sets forth the near epidemic bullying of teachers by students. With all of the emphasis on students as victims of bullying, the bullying of teachers by students has gone largely ignored but now is starting to be recognized. As with student bullying, school polices and legislation are being put forth to address this issue. But teachers need to learn how to defend themselves against student bullying.
Some of what you will learn:
- To determine if student behavior toward a teacher is actually bullying – in words or actions and in person or online – or is it immature behavior?
- Learn when the proper response is to notify the school administration, the parents and or law enforcement.
- Learn what are the teacher's rights being a victim of bullying.
- Learn preventative measures to take against in-person, in-the-classroom bullying by a student.
- Learn preventative measures to take when the bullying is online using social media, tweeter, snapchat and other mediums.
- Learn what good school policies should be that include teacher bullying by students.
"And when the target is an educator, it is a great "injustice" because the bully deprives students of a caring adult who is crucial to their education." – Dr. Matt Spencer
